1. Description of the Service

AcademicOS is an academic portfolio management platform that allows researchers to record their academic output and export curricula vitae in PDF format.

2. Use of the Service

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you submit.
  • You must not use the service for illegal or unauthorized purposes.
  • You must not attempt to access other users' accounts.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. AcademicOS will not be liable for losses caused by unauthorized use of your account.

4. Subscription and Payments

  • AcademicOS offers a free 14-day trial period.
  • After the trial period, a monthly subscription of $9.99 USD is required.
  • Payments are processed through Stripe (card) or MercadoPago (LATAM).
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time from Settings.
  • Upon cancellation, you will retain access until the end of the paid period.

5. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to the data you submit to AcademicOS. We do not claim ownership of your academic content.

6. Limitation of Liability

AcademicOS is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that the service will be free from errors or interruptions. Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the subscription in the last 12 months.

7. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these terms. Significant changes will be notified by email with at least 30 days' notice.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Chile, including Law No. 21,719 on Personal Data Protection. Any disputes shall be resolved before the competent courts of the city of Santiago, Chile.

For European Union users, the rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) are additionally respected. For California (USA) residents, the provisions of the CCPA are complied with. For users in other Latin American countries, applicable local data protection regulations are respected.
