Comprehensive Privacy Notice (Mexico)

Dissemina SpA, a Chilean company, RUT 78.368.621-K, with its registered address at Los Militares 5620, Oficina 905, Las Condes, Santiago, Chile, owner of the AcademicOS brand, is responsible for the processing of your personal data. Contact: hello@heydissemina.com.

Identification and contact data (name, email address and, if you add them, institution, position, ORCID and photo), academic data you record, evidence documents you upload, technical and security data (IP, browser, approximate country, language, access logs) and the status of your subscription. Payment data is collected and processed by the payment gateway. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive from Google your name, your email and, if available, your profile photo. We do not collect sensitive personal data; we ask you not to upload identity documents as evidence.

Primary purposes (necessary for the service):

• Providing the service for recording and organizing your academic record.
• Generating your exports in PDF and Word, depending on your plan.
• Completing the details of your publications by looking up public bibliographic sources with the DOI or ORCID, when you request it.
• Managing your account, your plan and your payments, and sending you service emails.
• Maintaining the security of the service and of your account.

Secondary purposes (optional):

• Document analysis with artificial intelligence (requires your prior consent).
• Publication of your voluntary public profile (only if you turn it on).
• Product usage analytics (only if you accept it in the cookie banner).
• Sending news and marketing communications (only with your consent).

If you do not want your data to be processed for the secondary purposes, you can turn each one off from Settings or write to hello@heydissemina.com. Refusing does not affect the primary purposes.

You can access your data, rectify it, cancel it or object to its processing (ARCO rights), as well as withdraw your consent and limit the use or disclosure of your data. You can do so directly from Settings (for example, downloading your data in JSON and CSV or deleting your account) or by sending a request to hello@heydissemina.com from your account email, stating your name, the right you are exercising and the data it refers to.

We will respond to your request within a maximum of 20 business days and, if it is granted, we will carry it out within the following 15 business days. If we do not respond in time or you disagree with the response, you may go to the competent personal data protection authority.

To provide the service, your data is disclosed to providers that process it on our behalf: Supabase (database, authentication and files; USA), Cloudflare (application hosting and security checks at sign-in), Anthropic (AI analysis, only if you start it; USA), Resend (service emails; USA), Sentry (technical error logging, without personal data by default or session recording; European Union, Germany) and PostHog (key service events without your name or your email and, only with your consent, browsing analytics; European Union).

Payments in US dollars are processed by Paddle, which acts as the seller (Merchant of Record) and receives your name, email, country and payment data; payments in Chilean pesos, by MercadoPago. If you choose to sign in with Google, Google acts as an independent third party. These disclosures are necessary for the service you contract. We do not sell your data or transfer it for advertising purposes.

We use essential cookies for the session and the operation of the service, two first-party cookies with no personal data that indicate which version of the home page you saw, and PostHog analytics cookies only if you accept them. The details are in the Cookies section of the Privacy Policy.

You can create a public profile accessible on the internet through a unique URL. It is voluntary, turned off by default, and you can turn it on and off at any time from Settings, with immediate effect. Your email address is never shown publicly.

Any change to this notice will be published on this page and, if it is significant, will be communicated to you by email at the address registered in your account at least 30 days in advance.
